ERP in Algeria: Odoo deployed for industry, from MRP to payroll

ERP never fails on technology. It fails on data and configuration.

The symptom you'll recognise

Book stock never matches physical stock. Month-end ties up the finance team for three weeks. Sales promises a lead time production cannot meet because they have no view of the load. Every department has built its own spreadsheet of record.

We deploy Odoo as the management backbone for industrial and service companies in Algeria: sales, purchasing, inventory, manufacturing (MRP), maintenance (CMMS), accounting, payroll and HR in a single system. As an official Odoo partner we cover the whole cycle — scoping, data migration, configuration, custom development, training and support. Payroll and social declarations are configured to Algerian regulation.

No commitment — you leave with an order of magnitude.

What we do

Scoping and phasing

We decide which modules to deploy and in what order, based on what is costing you most today. Going live on three modules you control beats a full deployment abandoned halfway.

Configuration and custom modules

Business configuration, rules, access rights and workflows. Where the standard product genuinely does not fit, we build dedicated modules that survive version upgrades.

Data migration

Extraction, cleansing and loading of your master data — items, partners, stock, balances, history. This is the step that sinks most ERP projects, and the one we spend the most time on.

Local compliance

Configuration aligned to the accounting, tax and payroll requirements applicable in your jurisdiction, worked through with your accountants and finance team.

What you receive

Deliverables, not promises

  • Scoping note: perimeter, phasing and estimated effort
  • Configured, tested and documented Odoo environment
  • Migrated data sets, reconciled and signed off
  • Custom modules, documented and version-controlled
  • Role-based training and go-live support

What an ERP must handle in Algeria

An ERP designed for Europe is not enough. Before comparing products, check they cover these six local requirements: this is where most projects find their gaps, usually too late.

SCF accounting

Chart of accounts and financial statements under the Algerian financial accounting system (SCF, law 07-11), kept in dinars with journals by transaction type. We complete Odoo's Algerian localisation and have your accountant validate it.

VAT and the G50 return

VAT at 19% and 9%, output and input VAT split, and figures ready for the monthly G50 return. The ERP produces the amounts; your tax team still files and signs.

Invoices compliant with decree 05-468

Name, address, trade register, NIS and tax ID for both seller and buyer, total including tax in figures and in words, unbroken numbering. An error on the name, tax ID or address can be treated as a failure to invoice (law 04-02, art. 33-34).

Payroll: IRG, CNAS, DAS

Current IRG income-tax scale and allowances, CNAS social contributions, the annual salary declaration (DAS) and the G29 statement. Odoo has no standard Algerian payroll: we configure it and update it with each finance law.

Imports and landed cost

Freight, customs duties and handling spread across the cost of imported items, so you see actual margin rather than an estimate.

Arabic, French, multi-site

Interface and documents in Arabic (right-to-left) and French, several warehouses, several companies and per-site access rights, in a single database.

Beyond Odoo Enterprise: our in-house modules

Our team has worked on Odoo since it was still called TinyERP. Project after project, we have covered every Odoo module and built a long list of in-house modules, including the whole Algerian layer the standard product does not ship. With ARTEC, Odoo covers more than the Enterprise edition alone — and when a need exists nowhere, we build the module that matches exactly how you work.

Odoo Community, Odoo Enterprise or Odoo with ARTEC?

Needs, Odoo modules and what we add

Odoo covers most of what an industrial company runs on out of the box. Integration work is about what the standard product does not know: your rules, your data and the Algerian framework.

Choosing an ERP in Algeria: 10 criteria

These apply to any vendor or integrator, us included. Ask them in writing and insist on written answers.

  1. Proven compliance

Ask to see an invoice, a payslip and G50 figures produced by the software, not a promise.

  2. Data ownership

You must be able to export your whole database, at any time, in a readable format.

  3. Hosting choice

Your servers, a host in Algeria or the cloud: the decision should stay yours.

  4. Five-year total cost

Licences, integration, hosting, support and upgrades, not only the opening quote.

  5. Costed data migration

Who cleans items, partners and opening stock, and how long is planned? It is the first line to overrun.

  6. Phased go-live

One module live within weeks beats a big-bang launch that keeps slipping.

  7. Maintainable custom work

Every development documented, version-controlled and able to survive upgrades.

  8. Support in Algeria

People you can reach in local working hours, in French and Arabic.

  9. Role-based training

The storekeeper, the accountant and the director use different parts of the ERP and need different training.

  10. Reversibility

If you change integrator, nothing should be locked: code, access and documentation are yours.

The five phases of an ERP project

The timeline depends on scope. A sales-and-inventory start typically takes eight to twelve weeks; each additional area then follows as its own phase.

  1. Scoping

Current processes, pain points, scope and rollout order, written up in a scoping note.

  2. Configuration

Module setup, business rules, access rights and compliant documents.

  3. Data migration

Cleansing and loading items, partners, stock and opening balances, checked by your teams.

  4. Testing and training

Tests on your real cases, fixes, then role-based training.

  5. Go-live and follow-up

Production start, intensive support in the first weeks, then the next phase.

Where to start, by company profile

There is no standard scope. These are the starting points we recommend most often, refined during scoping.

Frequently asked questions

What should we budget for an Odoo deployment?

It depends on user count, modules and the volume of custom development. We issue a costed estimate after scoping, with publisher licences and integration effort itemised separately. We don't quote a flat rate before seeing your actual perimeter.

How long does a deployment take?

A sales-and-inventory perimeter typically goes live in eight to twelve weeks. Adding manufacturing, accounting and payroll extends that. We deliver in phases so you're running the first module well before the project ends.

Can Odoo be connected to our other software?

Yes. We build the interfaces between Odoo and the tools you already run — accounting, payroll, line-of-business software, your e-commerce site, partner data files. That is often where the most time is won: every interface removes a re-keying step and the discrepancy that comes with it.

What if we want to change integrator later?

You own your database and your custom developments, delivered documented and version-controlled. Odoo is open source and we practise no technical lock-in.

Does Odoo handle Algerian accounting (SCF)?

Yes, once configured. Odoo ships an Algerian accounting localisation; we complete it (chart of accounts, journals, taxes) and have your chartered accountant sign it off before go-live.

ERP or sales-and-inventory software: which do we need?

Sales-and-inventory software is enough while you buy, stock and resell. Once you manufacture, maintain equipment, run several sites or want accounting fed without re-keying, an ERP pays for itself. Odoo lets you start with sales and inventory and extend later without changing software.

Where is our data hosted?

Wherever you decide: on your own servers, with a hosting provider in Algeria, or in the cloud. We install and maintain the environment in all three cases.

Does the ERP work in Arabic?

Yes. The interface and documents — invoices, delivery notes, payslips — can be in Arabic, French or English, set per user.
